Daresbury local Policing Unit (Moore, Sandymoor, Preston Brook, Daresbury, Windmill Hill)
September 2018 Off road bikes As the summer months come to an end we should now see a decrease in the numbers of off road bikes being used. This will coincide with the work that we have undertaken with Op Scrambler which has targeted known users of off road bikes. Over the past couple of months we have also issued several tickets to riders on Moore Nature Reserve and Oxmoor Nature Reserve, which will furthermore deter any riders from using these areas in the future. Please continue to report as we have an operation running called Op Scrambler to tackle the problem. Anti-Social Behaviour There have been reports of youths hanging around in the underpass on Keckwick Lane and also around the stables near to Sandymoor Lane. Roads Policing Speeding continues to be an issue within the area, however we have been out and about with the Speed-Camera to try and combat this issue. Northwich Road continues to be a major issue with vehicles speeding as the road changes from the national speed limit to a 30 mile per hour zone. Several vehicles have activated our Speed-Camera at this location in September. The beginning of September saw the reopening of the schools in the area and with that the ongoing issues with traffic in and around the schools. Please can you not park on double yellow lines or block resident’s driveways in these areas. Bridgewater Grange is still being monitored since the introduction of double yellow lines and Fixed Penalty Notices will be issued to offending vehicles. Suspicious Activity An information Leaflet drop was carried out in the Moore Village area due to some suspicious activity being reported around Hobb Lane. Since these original reports we have had no further issues. However, please can you remain vigilant and report anything or anyone that looks out of place.
Drugs If you have any intelligence about drugs activity in your area please call 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111 Parish Council Meetings are also attended, when we are available, to discuss any Policing issues.
