Daresbury local Policing Unit (Moore, Sandymoor, Preston Brook, Daresbury, Windmill Hill) October 2018
Off road bikes
Op Scrambler, which is aimed at tackling off road bikes, continues to run, so please keep on reporting any incidents off road bikes.
Over the past month we have only had two reports of off road bikes in the area of Daresbury and Windmill Hill. The first, being on land just off Moss Lane, which subsequently turned out to be the Landowner trying out his own bikes. The second was reported on fields near to Keckwick Lane. Unfortunately, the rider was gone when patrols attended.
Anti-Social Behaviour
After attending the areas when on duty, there have been no more reports of ASB near the underpass on Keckwick Lane or the stables near to Sandymoor Lane, however, there have been reports of youths ‘hanging around’ under the canal bridges.
Please continue to report any Anti-Social Behaviour via 101.
Roads Policing
There have been a couple of reports from Daresbury School and St. Berteline’s School recently in relation to parents and carers not adhering to parking rules. This not only puts children at risk when attending and leaving the school, but motorists also run the risk of being dealt with formally by Police by way of a parking ticket/fixed penalty which in some circumstances can result in points on license as well as a fine.
Bridgewater Grange is still being monitored since the introduction of double yellow lines and Fixed Penalty Notices will be issued to offending vehicles.
Schools in the area will continue to be regularly visited by the local PCSO to assist with parking issues etc.
Suspicious Activity
There have been several incidents of suspicious activity reported over the past month with the majority being harmless well intentioned calls, however, please continue to report anything you deem as suspicious or out of place via 101.
Drugs
If you have any intelligence about drugs activity in your area please call 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111 or make contact with your local beat manager or PCSO via email.
